The 27 American Amendments:
1. Freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition
example: I can tell anyone my opinion and even post it on the internet.
2. Right to keep and bear arms
example: I can get my conceal and carry and may have guns in my home.
3. No forced lodging troops in private home
example: Troops cant force me to let them stay with me.
4. No unreasonable search, seizures, and proper warrant
example: Cops cant search me for no reason and can not take my property.
5. Due process, eminent domain, self-incrimination, double Jeopardy
example: I have the right not tell what I did/tell on myself.
6. Right to trial in criminal cases
example: The governemtn can not throw me in jail util I atleast get a trial.
7. Right to jury trials in most civil cases
example: I may have a jury present while going to court to see if I am guilty or not.
8. Bail, cruel and unusual punishment
example: No hanging.
9. Unenumerated rights
example: I have the rights that everyone has even if they are not told to me.
10. Power reserved to the states
example: The states have the power to make laws for their state.
11. Immunity of states from certain suits
example: Certain states making their own laws.
12. Separate voting for President and Vice President
example: We may vote for both not just one.
13. Prohibition of slavery
example: I can not own slaves.
14. Citizenship, due process, equal protection under the law, nationalization of the Bill of Rights
example: Everyone is equal no matter was race. Cops may not discriminate.
15. No denial of vote because of race, color, or previous state of servitude
example: Any race can vote. Everyone's vote is equal to one vote.
16. Power of congress to tax incomes
example: Congress may charge whatever tax they want to what I make when I work.
17. Popular election of U.S. senators
example: If the person has more votes then they will become senator even if they are not liked.
18. Prohibition of alcohol
example: No drinking at all.
19. Womens suffrage
example:Women can vote.
20. Change of dates for start of presidential/congressional terms
example: They change the dates when the newest presidential/congressional runners start and end.
21. Repeal of prohibition
example: You may drink at the age of 21.
22. Presidents are limited to 2 terms / 10 years in office
example: If I am the vice president I can not severe longer than 10 years even if the president is killed at the begginning of his term.
23. District of Columbia gets 3 electoral votes
example: If Washington, DC got more then 3 votes it would be going against the amendment.
24. Ban on poll taxes
example: I may vote and they can not charge me.
25. Presidential succesion, vice presidential vacancy, presidential disability
example: President then to Vice President then to secretary of state
26. Minimum voting age no higher than 18
example: I may register to vote and become a voter if I am 18 years old.
